
Alia Nankoe, '02 MAIR
Alia Nankoe is the Gender-Based Violence Capacity Development Coordinator for the United Nations Population Fund's (UNFPA) Humanitarian Response Branch. UNFPA is an international development agency that seeks to alleviate poverty, prevent the spread of HIV/AIDS and ensure that all people are treated with dignity and respect. Currently living in rural Senegal, Alia earned her MAIR from the Maxwell School in 2002.

Amy Chan, ’08 MPA
Amy Chan is an Executive Analyst with the Office of the City Manager for the City of San José, California. Originally from Portland, Oregon, Amy completed her MPA at Maxwell in 2008, and also earned her bachelors from Santa Clara University with a double-major in Political Science and Environmental Studies.

Andrew Hollander, '05 MPA
Andrew Hollander is the Deputy Executive Director for Operations and Implementation at the Division of Students with Disabilities and English Language Learners at the New York City Department of Education. Andrew earned his MPA at Maxwell in 2005, and has a BA from Binghamton University.

Anna Abbey, '09 MPA
Anna Abbey is a Conflict Resolution Specialist at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's Conflict Prevention and Resolution Center (CPRC), which provides alternative dispute resolution (ADR) services to the entire agency. She earned her MPA in 2009 with a Certificate of Advanced Study in Applied Dispute Resolution and Conflict Management, and also holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Minnesota.

Beatriz Bustos, '05 MPA, '10 PhD
Beatriz Bustos is an Assistant Professor in the Geography Department at Universidad de Chile. As a Fulbright Scholar, Beatriz completed her MPA in 2005 and then continued with a PhD in Geography, completing it in 2010.

Beau Miller, '11 MAIR
Beau Miller is the Executive Director and Co-Founder of Aythos, originally Helambu Project USA, which consults with communities in developing countries on leadership and economic development initiatives. Chance Briggs, '97 MPA
Chance Briggs currently serves as national director for World Vision International's operations in Mali. In this role, he manages a large development program focused on food security, maternal and child health, nutrition, HIV/AIDS prevention and care, agricultural production and marketing, and disaster preparedness and response. He earned his MPA from Maxwell in 1997.

Elizabeth Fomegne is a Public Health Analyst at the National Center for Health Statistics of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Erika Hoffman-Kiess is a founding partner of the JOBS Group entities - JOBS Trust, JOBS ICT Private Limited, and JOBS International. Erika is currently based in Vermont having returned to the U.S. last year after a decade living abroad in Cambodia, Bangladesh, and Pakistan.

Gary Butterworth produces "Washington Forum," a 30 minute, French-language TV discussion program that is broadcast live every Thursday to eight African countries from Voice of America's Washington, DC studios. Originally from Blackwood, NJ, Gary graduated with a BA in International Relations (topic concentration in Foreign Policy Studies and geographic focus on Europe) in 2004.

John Linsley, '09 MAIR
For the past two years John was the safety coordinator at The School for Field Studies (SFS), an international field studies school for undergraduates. In this role, he visited SFS' field campuses in Kenya, Tanzania, Costa Rica, Panama, Mexico, and the Turks and Caicos Islands to support safety, health, and risk management systems; provide crisis response and medical skills training to the field staff; and contribute to program development.

Milena Sanchez de Boado, '99 MPA
Milena Sanchez de Boado was the 2011-2012 Supreme Court Fellow assigned to the Federal Judicial Center. Before taking on this role, Milena worked at the World Bank, where she focused on rule of law projects in developing countries, including projects with ministries of justice, judicial councils, judicial training institutes, bar associations and academia.

Prior to Red Leaf, she served for seven years as a management consultant for the public sector consulting firm, Hagerty Consulting, carrying out post-Hurricane Katrina local government and community redevelopment work in New Orleans, LA, and on the gulf coast of Mississippi.

Richard G. Wilson, '68 MPA
Richard Wilson is the Port Director for Port of Anchorage, Alaska. The Port of Anchorage serves as the gateway for most of the goods coming into Alaska - 90% of the consumer goods for 85% of the State. He earned his MPA from the Maxwell School in 1968, and also holds a BA in government from Pomona College.

Rob Simpson, '01 MPA
Rob Simpson serves as president & chief executive officer of CenterState CEO, as the executive director of the Central Upstate Regional Alliance, and president of Syracuse's business incubator, The Tech Garden. He previously served as president and CEO of the Metropolitan Development Association of Syracuse and Central New York (MDA). A native of Upstate New York, Rob earned his MPA from the Maxwell School in 2001.

Before this appointment, Scott was the first Chief of Staff to NOAA Administrator Vice Admiral Conrad C. Lautenbacher, Jr., U.S. Navy (Ret.) and chief adviser on policy, personnel and budget matters from 2001 to 2008.

Stacy Lemery, '13 MAIR
Stacy Lemery, a current MAIR student, is interning at the US Department of State in the Policy Planning and Coordination Office of the Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs (WHA/PPC). WHA/PPC coordinates among the other regional offices of the Bureau and also handles any issues that cross boundaries within the hemisphere, such as human trafficking, narco trafficking, transnational crime and violence, religious freedom, LGBT equality, and women's empowerment.
