Applications for graduate study are submitted to the Graduate School—the college of record for all graduate students at Syracuse University.  Each department at Maxwell reviews applications individually then conveys its admission recommendations to the Graduate School. Official offers of admission come from the dean of the Graduate School.

There are three ways to apply to any graduate program at the Maxwell School.

1) Online. This is the preferred method; online applications can be processed faster and more efficiently than those filed on paper. A complete online application may be filed at http://apply.embark.com/grad/syracuse.

2) Download an Application. Information about downloadable applications is available from at the Graduate School website.

3) Request a Preprinted Application. If you require a hard-copy, printed version of the application or if, for any reason, you cannot access the online form, please telephone the Graduate Enrollment Management Center at 315-443-4492; email grad@syr.edu; or write to 303 Bowne Hall, Syracuse University, Syracuse, N.Y. 13244.

More information about the Maxwell School and Syracuse University is contained in the Graduate Prospectus, a 48-page booklet that describes all of the School's degree programs; its interdisciplinary research and study institutes; and its faculty, facilities, and philosophies.  To request a copy of the Prospectus, use one of the departmental e-mail contacts provided below (preferred) or e-mail the School at info@maxwell.syr.edu. (Don't forget to include your mail address.) If you prefer to telephone, most of the department sites for professional programs and social science departments offer contact numbers; or call the School's information center at 315-443-2252.

Use these e-mail contacts to request a copy of the Graduate Prospectus or to seek other information about a program of study.
