Campbell Institute

CNYSpeaks, a civic engagement initiative co-directed by Campbell Institute Director Grant Reeher and Campbell Associate Tina Nabatchi, hosted a citizen forum on Sept. 26 that explored strategies for building audience for arts, culture and entertainment organizations in Onondaga County. CNYSpeaks-trained facilitators worked with participants at small tables to discuss what motivates them to participate in arts and culture events, what prevents them from doing so, and how to reduce barriers and increase attendance. The results are informing the work of the IDEAS Collaborative, a consortium of 40 local arts, culture, and entertainment organizations working together to build their audiences and make the arts more sustainable.
