Bio

Perry Singleton is an associate professor of economics and a senior research associate in the Center for Policy Research. His work specializes in public, labor and health economics.

His research focuses on the effects of health on labor market outcomes, the economics of the family in relation to health, and the role of social insurance programs in the economy, including Social Security's old-age and disability insurance and the Department of Veterans Affair's Disability Compensation program.

He is also interested in occupational safety and health in relation to labor market outcomes, firm productivity, technological development and regulatory oversight. He has numerous published papers in journals including the Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Human Resources, and Journal of Law and Economics.

He received a Ph.D. from the University of Maryland.
