Faculty interest spans a broad spectrum
within the field of econometrics: panel data, spatial
econometrics, productivity analysis, health econometrics, count
data models, weak instruments, and specification testing to
mention a few. In addition to our three-course Ph.D. sequence in
econometrics, our breadth enables us to offer a wide variety of
Ph.D. topics courses and several courses at the
masters/undergraduate level.
The econometrics group offers an
Econometric Lunch, which brings external speakers to campus to
lead workshops over lunch (link to workshop site). We offer an
active schedule of speakers, with presentations by some of the
most productive econometrics scholars in the world. In the
workshop, speakers present research on theoretical and empirical
issues related to the study of econometrics. Graduate student
participation is a goal of the workshop and speakers are
encouraged to present material in such a way as to facilitate
this goal. In addition, once a year we host
Camp Econometrics in New York which attracts top
econometricians from all around the country and graduate
students of econometrics from around the New York universities
and surrounding areas including Canada.
