MAIR/EMPA Dual Degree Program

The MAIR/EMPA Program combines the Maxwell School’s Executive Master of Public Administration with its professional MA in International Relations. The degree prepares mid-career professionals to enhance their global careers in government, consulting firms, NGOs, and international organizations. Careers in these sectors value the combination of regional and international policy expertise along with public management skills that these two programs offer.

The IR/MPA Program is designed to allow students to fulfill the requirements of both degrees with the completion of 49 credits in either a sixteen month or two-year time frame. Students who undertake this program are admitted separately by the Executive Public Administration and International Relations Program offices. Core requirements and specializations for both programs will then be completed by students, earning them both an EMPA from Public Administration and the MAIR from International Relations.
