MSSC Degree Requirements

The applicant must complete 30 credits for the MSSC degree. Up to 6 transfer credits may be accepted upon matriculation, provided they were taken at the graduate level at an accredited institution, but not as a part of another degree program, you received a grade of B or better, and the courses are relevant to the M.S.Sc. curriculum. To remain in good standing in the program, you must maintain at least a B average (3.0).

When admitted to the program, the student will be assigned a faculty advisor to help select the courses that begin your program of study. The M.S.Sc. program is designed so that the student may register and begin coursework at any time during the year; however, six credits must be registered within 3 months of the acceptance to the program.

Student may register for and complete up to 15 credits per year, and finish the program in two years. However, students work at their own pace and the average program is completed in three years. You have up to seven years to complete the degree.

Students must attend a two-week on-campus residency in Syracuse and two additional one-week residencies in Syracuse or at an alternative site.
