Leaders for Democracy Fellows complete their 12
week program
 Graduation ceremonies were held on June 6th for the twenty Fellows from
10 countries in the Middle East who participated in the Leaders for
Democracy Fellows program (funded by the U.S. Department of State's
Middle East Partnership Initiative).
The Fellows participated in a
six-week academic program at the Maxwell School of Syracuse University
that included subjects on leadership, democracy, democratic transitions
around the globe, comparative politics, civil society, communication,
conflict resolution, and change management, among others.
After
completing the academic portion of the program, Fellows engaged in a
six-week professional affiliation assignment with public institutions as
a means of gaining practical skills and learning more about the American
democratic system.
It was a pleasure to have the Fellows with us these past 12 weeks and we
wish them much success in their future endeavors. |
