PGPPM program participant awarded gold medal
Alok Mishra, a participant of the 2007 Post-Graduate Programme in Public
Policy and Management (PGPPM) program, was recently awarded the Gold
Medal at the 34th IIMB Convocation Function by former Chief Justice and
Chairman NHRC, M. N. Venkatchalliah.
Alok’s dissertation was on the “Analysis of Public Policy Interventions,
Growth and Strategies of Media Conglomerates in Post-Liberalization
Era.” We wish the best to Alok and the rest of the batch as they
continue with their work.
PGPPM is the first post-graduate program of its kind in India. Initiated
in 2002, with core support from the Government of India and the United
Nations Development Programme (UNDP), PGPPM has expanded to attract
leading officials from all of India’s top services.
The program is designed to equip mid-career civil servants with the
concepts, skills, and techniques in formulating public policy and
strategic management of public systems. PGPPM is a two-year program
based at the Indian Institute of Management-Bangalore with a two month
session held in the U.S. at the Maxwell School.
