Graduate School Application

There are three ways to access the Syracuse University Graduate School Application:

1) Online. This is the preferred method; online applications can be processed faster and more efficiently than those filed on paper. A complete online application may be filed at https://apply.embark.com/grad/syracuse/37/

2) Download an Application. Download the Maxwell School application form in PDF format, print it, complete it, and return it by conventional mail to:

3) Request a Preprinted Application.  If you require a hard-copy, printed version of the application or if, for any reason, you cannot access the online form, please telephone the Graduate Enrollment Management Center at 315-443-4492; email grad@syr.edu; or by mail (see address above). Complete the application and return it to the Graduate Enrollment Management Center.

Applications for graduate study at Syracuse are submitted to The Graduate School—the college of record for all graduate students at Syracuse University.  Each department at Maxwell reviews applications individually then conveys its admission recommendations to the Graduate School. Official offers of admission come from the Dean of the Graduate School.

If you are applying using the Syracuse University Graduate School Application and wish to verify whether all application materials have arrived at Syracuse University, you may contact the Graduate Enrollment Management Center (GEMC), 303 Bowne Hall, Syracuse, New York 13244-1010, telephone 315-443-9120, grad@gwmail.syr.edu. The GEMC handles all application processing, including the authorization of visa documents.
