Certificate in
Public Administration
Certificate of Advanced Study
The Certificate of Advanced Study in Public
Administration is a one-semester graduate program for midcareer managers
seeking to hone their leadership skills or develop a new area of policy expertise.
Eligible applicants must have 7 or more
years of mid-level professional experience, including management
responsibilities and some public sector work preferred. Many managers study in the program to prepare them for a higher-level
position. Students complete four courses or 12 credits of public
administration course work, including the Midcareer Seminar (PPA 895). With
careful advisement, students select the remaining 3 courses from the
extensive coursework offered in the Public Administration Department. It is
also possible to complete the Certificate on a part-time basis.
The Certificate in Public Administration may be
completed independently of or as part of the master degree program. All
credits earned for the certificate may be applied toward the Executive MPA
degree.
