GIS Resources at SU Geography Department The SU Geography Department offers several courses in Geospatial Information, Analysis and Modeling including cartography, applications and methods in geographic information technologies, spatial analysis and modeling, and hydrological and ecosystem modeling. Click here to learn more about course offerings and pertinent Geography faculty. SU Geography is also a member of the University Consortium for Geographic Information Science. The Geography Department houses three laboratories for spatial information and analysis research: the Geographic Information and Analysis Lab in Eggers Hall, the Physical Geography Lab in Heroy Hall, and the Cartographic Laboratory in Bowne Hall. Bird Library The Geographic and Statistical Information Center (G-SIC), located in Room 348 of the Bird Library, assists SU and SUNY ESF affiliates with GIS and statistical needs. In addition, the G-SIC center maintains the ESRI software site license, which allows access and use of all ESRI license agreement software, including ArcGIS, ArcInfo, ArcView, and ESRI data sets. Links to publicly available GIS data sources and a list of ESRI’s online GIS courses can also be found on the G-SIC website. Some ESRI online courses are free to SU and ESF affiliates.
