Late Fall of Year Prior to Admission . . . · Contact the Registrar’s Office of each higher educational institution that you attended and have two (2) copies of your official Transcripts sent to Syracuse University. · Contact three (3) recommenders for confidential Letters of Recommendation which, along with the completed Recommendation Form from the application packet, should be sent to the Graduate Enrollment Management Center in sealed envelopes on which the recommender has signed across the seal. Recommendation letters can also be submitted through the Embark online application. Complete your portion of the online Recommendation Forms and submit email addresses of your recommenders. The Embark system will send the forms to your recommenders. · Prepare a Personal Statement for the application packet (The M.A. applicant should address his/her background, history interests, and reasons for applying to Syracuse. The Ph.D. applicant should address the fields of history to be studied, faculty members at Syracuse with whom he/she would like to work, and the applicant’s command of foreign languages appropriate to the fields in which he or she is interested.) · International Students should take the TOEFL Exam:
