Global Europe Program
Final Evaluation

As you may know, we have significantly redesigned the Global Europe Program over the past four years and have instituted many changes that influenced this 2007 cohort.  We are anxious to know your views on the evolving format and will be taking your comments quite seriously.  Please take a moment to complete the final evaluation in this series of evaluations on each component of the program.

Please note that this evaluation is anonymous; when you hit "send" at the bottom of this page your responses will be e-mailed to the Global Programs Coordinator without any indication as to the message's origin.  Thanks for all of your feedback and for being an active participant in this program!

Part II: The European Union Internship

1. Did the IR Program provide you with resources and assistance you needed to seek out relevant internships?  Please comment on the assistance that you received, if any, and provide advice on how we can improve assistance to students in the future.  What specific barriers did you face in your internship search?

2. Was your on-site internship supervisor ready to receive you?  If not, how did you resolve this issue?  Do you think that we should coordinate more with the on-site internship supervisors in the future?  How?

3.   How did your internship enhance your educational and professional experience?  Would you recommend that students consider this organization in the future?

4. What could the Global Europe Program add that would better prepare students for an overseas internship?

5. Could you estimate your weekly time investment on your internship site?

Part III: Global Europe Independent Study

6.  Please discuss the overall effectiveness of your independent study faculty sponsor.   What advice do you have for the Program on how to increase the level of communication and quality of assistance provided by the faculty sponsor?  What are the necessary components for the success of your guided research?

7. What can the Program do to better prepare students for the challenges associated with completing this component of the Program?

8. Did you use the Blackboard capability available for this course?  If so, did you find it helpful in communicating with the faculty sponsor or others involved in the program?  What are the benefits and drawbacks of using Blackboard for the Global Europe Program and should we continue to take advantage of this resource in the future?

GENERAL QUESTIONS ABOUT THE PROGRAM

9. Please estimate your expenses (noting your location) so we can plan for the next person in more detail based on your feedback.  Include travel, housing, commuting and living expenses (food, entertainment, etc.).  Do you have any advice on finding inexpensive airfare or housing?

10. On the Symposium: did you think this was a valuable/necessary experience?  What suggestions do you have for next year's Symposium?

11. Now that you have been through the entire program, would you do it all over again? Was it worth the time/expense/energy? Do you have any general comments that you would like to make?

BONUS QUESTION - Since most of you are almost done with the degree requirements and may not come back up to Syracuse for a while, please let us know what your plans are for the upcoming spring semester (research, internship, job, courses, etc.).  Please give us updated contact information.  Please stay in touch!!!
