Program Evaluation for
International Relations
Learning Community
2006-2007

Congratulations!  You've made it through your first year of college!  Now, looking back on the decisions that you have made this year, we would like to get your feedback on how the International Relations Learning Community (IRLC) has influenced your experience during your first year at Syracuse University (SU).

Learning Communities have been developed here at SU to provide an environment in which students with common interests can live and learn together, providing students with valuable opportunities for experiential learning, an applied understanding of the field through off-campus opportunities and unique programming on campus, and academic assistance through dedicated faculty and student mentors.

The IRLC community is designed to develop an awareness of international events through focused discussion and activities, and to expose students to relevant opportunities and resources at its off-campus centers (DC and overseas).  Students register for PSC 124 International Relations that features related out-of-class programs and events in their residence hall to further link academic and co-curricular experiences.  Students are encouraged to attend lectures, cross-cultural workshops, and other special activities in conjunction with the international relations program.

This year, the IRLC held many events throughout the course of the year including: welcome event and Ottawa briefing, fall retreat to Canadian Parliament, Oxfam Hunger Banquet on World Food Day, Careers in IR discussion with Ambassadors Leader and Planty, Study Abroad Open House, the spring retreat to the UN, and the IR end of year reception (coming May 2nd).

In an effort to assess the success of this program in meeting these goals and to assist in the future development of the learning community course and event programming, as a whole, we are asking all students to complete this program evaluation.  We are anxious to know your views on this learning community and will be taking your comments quite seriously.  Please take a moment to complete this evaluation form.

This evaluation form is anonymous: when you hit send at the bottom it will be emailed to the Global Programs Coordinator without any indication as to the message's origin.  NOTE: DO NOT HIT "ENTER" UNTIL YOU HAVE COMPLETED ALL FIELDS WITHIN THIS FORM.  USE "TAB" TO NAVIGATE BETWEEN THE FIELDS.  "ENTER" WILL AUTOMATICALLY SUBMIT YOUR INFORMATION TO ME VIA E-MAIL.

Your feedback is invaluable to the development and success of this program in the future.
Thanks in advance for your response!
