External Funding Opportunities

The Maxwell School provides a wealth of opportunities to financially support its students in their graduate study. There are, for example, assistantships in research and teaching, in administration and in work experiences.  However, graduate awards such as assistantships and scholarships are highly competitive, and it is in the students' best interest to strive for other types of awards to fund graduate study.

The International Relations Program Staff can help students in their pursuit of some fellowships, and information is available below on many of these outside sources of funding. Students who are not yet matriculated in our programs, or not yet admitted, would do well to fill out the FAFSA form for need-based financial aid. (Syracuse University' code for this form is 002882).
