Brown Article Featured in Foreign
Affairs
6/14/05 An
article co-authored by Stuart Brown,
professor of economics and international relations and senior research
associate in the Moynihan Institute, appears in the March/April issue of
Foreign Affairs. The article, titled "The Overstretch Myth" and
co-authored by David Levey, asserts that the United
States' current account deficit and foreign debt are not dire threats to its
global position. U.S. power, Brown claims, "is firmly grounded on economic
superiority and financial stability that will not end soon." The full
article is
available online. Earlier, an adapted version of the article appeared in
the February 19, 2005, issue of the International Herald Tribune.
That article is also
available online. Stuart Brown is also featured in the July/August 2005
issue of Foreign Affairs in the Review and Response section, which involves
a debate over the US current account deficit.
