Costs and Scholarship Opportunities
The fee for the 2014 Transnational NGO Leadership Institute is $3,340 U.S. for the five-day program. This fee includes the training fee ($2,500), six nights of accommodation, 6 breakfasts, lunch meals during the five days of the Institute, three dinner meals, and transportation to local venues. Participants will be expected to arrange for payment of their travel costs, two evening meals and any personal expenses. Participants who must extend their stay either before or after the Institute should contact Carlo Abuyuan, Participant Liaison (email@example.com) to make arrangements and the fees will be adjusted accordingly.
We are currently approaching several donors; if successful, a small number of competitive scholarships may be awarded. These will be in the form of full or partial scholarships to be applied to Leadership Institute fees, or may be awarded in the form of a subsidy applied to these fees in the interest of ameliorating the burden of travel costs to participants who must travel long distances internationally. In making award decisions, the requests of all applicants will be considered, but priority will be given to participants who are from transnational NGO's founded in the Global South.
The application deadline for consideration for these scholarships is February 21, 2014. Applicants will be informed approximately two weeks thereafter regarding the award of these scholarships. If you are interested in participating in the 2014 Institute and do not receive a scholarship but need funding support, please seek funding from your own organization’s donor pool. The application deadline for all paying applicants is April 15, 2014. If you have questions regarding the benefit of this program to you in your current position, please consult the guidelines listed on the website section entitled "Who Should Attend".
Billing, Payment and Cancellation Information
If your application is accepted, you will receive a notice of acceptance by email. This notification will include an invoice and payment information. Payment for accepted applicants will be due by May 1, 2014.
Cancellation policy: cancellations are accepted without charge if written notification is received at least 30 days prior to the program’s starting date. Cancellations received after that time will be charged 25 percent of the total training fee.
Acceptance of all participants is based upon the extent of significant management and leadership experience, level of responsibility within the organization, motivation, and sector, size, geographical and gender diversity.
