Welcome to the Upstate New York Consortium for Middle Eastern Studies, a collaboration between the State University of New York-Binghamton University, the University of Buffalo, Colgate University, Cornell University, Hamilton College, Ithaca College, St. Lawrence University, and Syracuse University. Currently under development, the goal of the consortium is to further Middle Eastern and Islamic Studies at all universities and colleges in the Upstate New York area.
This website, when more fully operational, will serve as a central hub for that purpose, enabling everybody at member institutions -- both faculty, students, and administrators -- to see what classes and events other colleges are hosting and teaching.
The Consortium is a cross-disciplinary program. It will not be limited to just history, religious studies, languages, or political science, but will include anthropology, sociology, and any other discipline that is relevant to the study of the Middle East.
