CONFERENCE ON PEACE AND COOPERATION IN NORTHEAST ASIA TO BE HELD IN NEW YORK CITY

A press briefing will be held in the Manhattan Room of the Millennium UN Plaza Hotel at 3:30 pm on Friday, March 9.

The meeting is closed to the press and public. A conference on peace and cooperation in Northeast Asia will take place in New York City later this week. The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, a German non-governmental organization, initiated planning for the conference over a year ago. The conference is co-organized by the Maxwell School of Syracuse University, the Center for Peace and Public Integrity at the Seoul-based Hanshin University, the National Association of Korean Americans and the Pacific Century Institute. The conference has been designed as an unofficial Track II initiative intended to foster peace and cooperation in Northeast Asia. The media will have an opportunity to attend a press briefing at the end of the conference although the public will not be admitted to the conference itself. The press briefing will be held in the Manhattan Room of the Millennium UN Plaza Hotel at 3:30 pm on Friday, March 9.
