The Moynihan Institute's Global Policies Lecture and Luncheon Series, under the auspices of former Ambassador and Professor of Public Administration and International Relations Melvyn Levitsky, brings current policymakers and former government officials together with faculty and students to discuss timely and pressing global issues that are under consideration in policy circles in the US and other countries. In addition to offering public lectures, these policymakers meet over lunch and dinner with groups of students and faculty for more informal and in-depth conversation. The topics addressed by the Series this year include American policy on terrorism, homeland security,the Middle East peace process, outreach to the Muslim world, US- Mexican relations and US policy in the United Nations. This lecture and discussion series is often co-sponsored by other Maxwell School programs such as PLACA, PARC, and the South Asia Center. Speakers have included former Ambassadors to Yugoslavia, Tadzhikistan, Pakistan, Mexico, Venezuela, Russia as well as current Assistant and Deputy Assistant Secretaries of State for International Narcotics and Law Emforcement, for Population, Refugees and Migration, and for Counter-Terrorism.
