Funding

The South Asia Center offers Foreign Language and Area Studies Fellowships (FLAS) from the U.S. Dept. of Education for graduate study in South Asia. Students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents of the U.S. The fellowship requires language study in addition to course work that focuses on South Asia. Students must be admitted to the relevant SU program to be eligible. 

The Agehananda Bharati Memorial Fund provides summer fellowships for doctoral students enrolled in Maxwell programs. Application deadlines are in March.

University Fellowships and Teaching Assistantship are awarded by individual departments. Other teaching and research assistantships are awarded by various SU offices. See the Graduate School webpage for further information.
