In order to better reflect PARC's current mission and programs, its name is being changed to the Program for the Advancement of Research on Conflict and Collaboration (PARCC).

Editors Craig Zelizer and Robert A. Rubinstein wrote the introduction titled "Peacebuilding: Creating Structure and Capacity for Peace" in Building Peace: Practical Reflections from the Field.

CNYSpeaks Recognized as one of the Chancellor's Leadership Projects~
Professors Tina Nabatchi and Grant Reeher, both PARCC Affiliates, are collaborating with the Post Standard to promote local citizen deliberation and involvement in community issues. Their intiative, CNYSpeaks, has been recognized by Chancellor Nancy Cantor. Learn more here

     

New Publication on Conflict Transformation and Peacebuilding

Conflict Transformation and Peacebuilding: Moving From Violence to Sustainable Peace, Edited by Bruce Dayton and Louis Kriesberg of PARCC, examines the causes of escalation and de-escalation in intrastate conflicts.  To read more click here.

The Berghof Handbook for Conflict Transformation
 
Louis Kriesberg, Emeritus Professor of Sociology and Founding Director of PARCC, published an article in the 7th volume of the Berghof Handbook Series titled "Making Good Use of the Time: Contributions and Dilemmas of Non-governmental Actors in Peacebuilding"   Click here to read this article.
   
     
New Book Published from PARC Alumni conference
The book is titled Pushing the Boundaries: New Frontiers in Conflict Resolution and Collaboration and is authored by Rachel Fleishman, Catherine Gerard, and Rosemary O'Leary, Editors (Emerald Group Publishing, 2008). View book information here.
   
     

New Publications on Collaboration: 

The world of governance has changed.  Public servants at all levels are working in a new landscape that requires them to be collaborative.  PARCC's collaborative governance pillar examines what it means to be a leader in a shared-power world.

Congratulations to Kerry Fosher (Anthropology Ph.D. , 2005) on the publication of her book, Under Construction: Making Homeland Security at the Local Level, by the University of Chicago Press. The work reported in this book as supported in part by PARCC.

Atty. Datu Reza Cang Sinsuat (EMPA, 2008) is a senior officer at the Southern Philippines Development Authority (SPDA).  He recently met with Archbishop Orlando V. Quevedo, the newly appointed  head of the task force that will manage reconstruction of the Mindanao River basin.
