Training

Civic Leadership Institute

With support from the Kauffman Foundation, and in collaboration with Dean Tiffany Steinwert (Dean of Hendricks Chapel) and the Department of Sociology, we provide a series of 1- and 2-day trainings in the method used by Professor Marshall Ganz at the Kennedy School of Government (Harvard University), in the tools and skills of shared democratic leadership. In summer of 2010, we offered two weekend-long trainings to residents of the Near West Side, and are eager to continue making these trainings available at no cost to students, staff, faculty, and residents. A presentation of the training can be seen at: Community Fellows Community Organizing Training (PDF).
