Current Research Projects:
I study the
relationship of political and economic change. I am starting work on a
book project based on my dissertation which develops and tests a new framework
to generate context specific predictions concerning the ways in which, and the
channels through which, political institutions affect economic performance.
Other projects include an examination of how
political institutions mediate the effects of
heterogeneity on
public goods delivery, a test of the "selectorate theory" in the East Asian
context, and study of the trade-off between constraints on rulers and state
power in the process of development.
