Current Research Projects:
1. As a follow-up to my forthcoming book
"Comparing Apples and Mangoes," which establishes--theoretically and
empirically-- the conceptual basis that distinguishes the state in Africa, Asia,
and South America from the state in Western countries, I am now engaged in
collecting data and writing a book to test the explanatory
hypotheses/propositions about the state in non-Western countries.
2. As part of my interest in the African transformations, I am now collecting
data and writing a book about the conditions under which the recently proposed
"African Union" can be a viable strategy of transformation.
