Hi. My name is Jihoon and I'm a junior from Seoul, Korea studying International Relations. During the Spring 2018 Semester, I spent time interning at the World Affairs Council of America. My internship so far has been light in terms of the workload. In the future, I would like to work at a non-profit organization that focuses on international relations issues especially in the East Asian region.
One thing I have really enjoyed was the opportunity to meet with and learn from high ranking officials and experts in DC facilitated by this program. I have also improved my memo writing skills throughout the semester. DC is a great place and there are so many things I like about it - the museums, the restaurant choices, the weather, and the metro system.
My advice to incoming students is choose a living situation that you are comfortable with. Don’t be afraid to ask for a single if you would prefer it! Also, branch out and meet new people that you enjoy being around.
