Hi. I'm Lan and I'm an international student from Changchun, China studying International Relations and Geography. While taking part in the Spring 2018 Maxwell-in-Washington Program, I spent my time interning at the Wilson Center with the China Environment Forum (CEF). CEF has implemented projects, workshops, and exchanges that bring together U.S., Chinese, and other environmental policy experts to explore the most imperative environmental and sustainable development issues in China.
I like my internship, especially the convenient location. I am passionate about international security focusing on East Asia. This program has enabled me to network and meeting amazing and important individuals in the fields that interest me.
I enjoy the food, museums, and events here in DC. My advice to incoming students is to be patient with your internships; you may not always get the one you want, but you'll have to make the most out of the opportunities you have. You get what you put into this program.
