I am a junior from Stoneham, MA, studying economics, international relations with concentrations in Europe and international political economy, and citizenship & civic engagement. I interned at Hamilton Place Strategies, a consulting firm that’s leading thinking to produce better outcomes for the global economy and its participants.
My internship went very well. I was extremely busy and my coworkers really seemed to appreciate me. I had the opportunity to attend some fun social and team building days, and I got to go to Bloomberg to learn how to use a Bloomberg Terminal. I was surprised that HPS focuses so heavily on PR as well as economics.
In DC, I really enjoyed that there is always something to go see: monuments, museums etc.
For future DC students, I’d say: apply to as many internships as you can, and don't be afraid to follow up yourself if you haven't heard from one you really want.
