Men's Health Network Intern

My name is Zhonglin Gong, I am currently a double major in International Relations and Economics and am expecting to graduate May 2020. I am interning in Men's Health Network, which is a national non-profit public health advocacy group dedicated to increasing the awareness of health issues of men, boys and fathers, both mentally and physically. My job tasks vary, including regular administrative work, database updating and maintenance, assisting with research projects to health issues, addressing concerns and asking for proclamations from governors and mayors to contribute to men's health week or men's health month to address the silent health crises of men and families.

I'm interested in public health related areas and also non-profit organizations, thus MHN is one of these targets for me. My favorite part is while I was still in the office before remote working, I greatly enjoyed the friendly atmosphere in the office.

First of all, as an international student, I would like to gain some work experience in the United States. Although I am planning to go back to China for my future career, I think it is necessary for an international student to get to know what it is like to work in another country. I would also like to learn more about how NGOs function and what role they play in America. It is indeed fascinating to me!
