Career Development

At the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, we seek to educate leaders who are committed to making meaningful, positive change in the world. As such, we are invested in the success of our students and offer a wealth of career development resources, guidance, and opportunities.

Career Advising

Students will have the opportunity to meet personally with a career advisor to discuss career development strategies and job search needs. During these face-to-face guidance sessions, advisors will help students:

  • Focus their career goals and job search strategies
  • Sharpen their resumes and cover letters
  • Review and improve their LinkedIn profile
  • Utilize networking resources to get valuable career guidance
  • Provide guidance to seek promotion within their current organization

Center for Career Development

This dedicated resource provides opportunities for students at all levels of their careers to participate in career strategy sessions, employer information sessions, career-related workshops, and networking opportunities. Learn more about the Center for Career Development.

Career Management System

Students have access to the Maxwell School’s Career Management System, which regularly displays job, internship, and fellowship opportunities in federal, state, and local government agencies, nonprofit organizations, private organizations, and international agencies.

Lifelong Connections

Even after graduation, Maxwell welcomes the opportunity to work with our alumni in their career development endeavors. Alumni are encouraged to stay in close contact with students, faculty, and staff. They will continue to receive news and updates about opportunities and developments.
