Insecurity and Sustainability: A Cultural Ecology of Hereditary Performers in India

Through a case study of marginal, hereditary regional musicians (Ghasis) in east-central India, Associate Professor Babiracki argues for approaching the sustainability of their fragile community through the lens of cultural ecology rather than heritage conservation.
