Craig Cohn is the president of real estate for Intrawest, a resort development and real estate company headquartered in Denver. Cohn is responsible for overseeing all real estate activities the company engages in. He received his BA in political science from the Maxwell School in 1994.
As the president of real estate for Intrawest, Cohn handles business regarding land acquisitions and dispositions, project development, and oversight of various real estate and property activities. He says each day is unique, and oversees various sites all across the state, from Winter Park to Steamboat Springs.
Prior to joining Intrawest in February of 2016, Cohn worked for Solaris Development Company in Vail, Colorado for 12 years. One of the large projects he worked on was the development of the Solaris Residences and Shops at Solaris, a large mixed use property of residences, shops, and entertainment space. Cohn's work certainly paid off, as the successful development is considered a "new benchmark" in the field.
The education Cohn received at the Maxwell School prepared him for his current career. "The tenacity, problem solving skills, and ability to look for creative solutions to both challenges and new ideas grew out the diversity of experiences that my degree and four years at SU afforded me," he says. Cohn cites his ability to work with various government officials on the permitting and approval of his projects, like the Solaris Residences, as a key skill he learned at Maxwell.
Cohn recommends that students "balance your studying with staying on top of current events, innovation and all the other experiences that SU has to offer from clubs and teams, to social activities and organizations. All of these experiences will lead to a well rounded education that will help you be prepared for the challenges and opportunities that lay ahead."
