DESCRIPTION:South Asia Center Graduate Student Summer Research GrantsThe So
 uth Asia Center announces the competition for the Bharati Memorial Award f
 or the summer of 2016 (or AY 2016-17) for grants leading to doctoral disse
 rtation research. Students in PhD programs in the Maxwell School are prefe
 rred. Students in other programs may apply\, and we will fund if other fun
 ding becomes available. We are especially interested in supporting pre-dis
 sertation research\, although short-term dissertation research can be supp
 orted. We anticipate awarding 1-5 grants for 2016.&nbsp\;Only projects con
 cerning South Asia are eligible.&nbsp\;Previous recipients of this or othe
 r grants awarded through the Moynihan Institute of Global Affairs are elig
 ible\, but not top priority.Grants will range from $500 to a maximum of $1
 500.(You may apply for more than one summer grant from the Moynihan Instit
 ute\, but you will not receive more than one in a given year.&nbsp\;Other 
 types of support that could exclude you from receiving a summer research g
 rant include summer FLAS\, summer de Sardon-Glass support\, and any other 
 summer support from the Moynihan Institute.&nbsp\; Awards are ranked separ
 ately\, so if your proposal is accepted by more than one committee\, you w
 ill be awarded the better opportunity. If you win an award this year\, you
