 torically fueled the\ncarceral system\, and kept parolees cycled between i
 ncarceration\, parole\, and\nreentry. This project further examined the ro
 le of a prison abolition\norganization in facilitating the protection and 
 implementation of the LIM Act\nin Onondaga County.&nbsp\;Simmelkjaer is cu
 rrently a Ph.D. student in the Sociology Department at Syracuse\nUniversit
 y\, and her research interests include&nbsp\;the sociology of\npunishment\
 , criminology and Black feminism.
