 awards to graduate students to support summer 2017 field research for MA t
 hesis or doctoral research projects in Europe. Graduate students at Syracu
 se University are eligible and encouraged to apply. The purpose of the awa
 rd is to provide students the opportunity to gather preliminary data\, mak
 e contacts\, map topics\, and increase competitiveness of future proposals
  for funding. The awards are competitive and proposals are judged on the b
 asis of (i) quality of the proposed research\, (ii) organization and thoug
 htfulness of the proposal\, and (iii) appropriateness and feasibility of t
 he research plan in relation to the student's background and qualification
 s.&nbsp\;You may apply for more than one summer grant from the Moynihan In
 stitute\, but you will not receive more than one in a given year.&nbsp\; O
 ther types of support that could exclude you from receiving a summer resea
 rch grant include summer FLAS funding\, summer de Sardon-Glass support\, a
 nd other types of summer support from the Moynihan Institute.&nbsp\; Award
 s are ranked separately\, so if your proposal is accepted by more than one
