 l experts breaks down what is happening and what the implications are for 
 the U.S. and global economy.&nbsp\;Margarita Estévez-Abe specializes in th
 e comparative political economy of advanced industrial countries with an i
 nterest in how political and economic institutions are constructed differe
 ntly across countries and their varying effects on politics and ordinary p
 eople’s lives. She has taught courses on topics such as comparative politi
 cs\, comparative politics of gender\, comparative welfare states\, and dem
 ocracy. Before joining Syracuse University\, she taught at Harvard Univers
 ity.Devashish Mitra’s research and teaching interests are in international
  trade\, political economy and development economics. More specifically\, 
 he has worked on the role of politics in general and of interest groups in
  particular in the determination of trade policy\; and on the impact of tr
 ade on productivity growth and labor market outcomes. He is currently work
 ing on the impact of&nbsp\; trade on employment\, unionization and informa
 lity\, as well as on the economics and politics of populism. Mitra is also
  a commentator on Indian economic policy issues.Ryan Monarch researches bu
 yer-supplier relationships in international trade and how the recent tarif
 f war affected U.S. exports and supply chains. He served as a principal ec
 onomist for the International Finance division of the Board of Governors o
 f the Federal Reserve from 2014-2021. His work has been published in the R
 eview of Economics and Statistics\, the Journal of International Economics
  and other publications.Kristen (Kris) Patel&nbsp\;a distinguished alumna 
 of the Maxwell School (’90 B.A. (Econ/PSt) with more than 25 years of expe
 rience leading intelligence and analytics programs in the public and priva
 te sectors. She is the Donald P. and Margaret Curry Gregg Professor of Pra
 ctice in Korean and East Asian Affairs. In her role\, Patel serves as a fa
 culty member in the Policy Studies Program and teaches undergraduate cours
 es in policy studies and graduate courses in public administration and int
 ernational affairs. In addition\, Patel is a research associate in Maxwell
 ’s Program for the Advancement of Research on Conflict and Collaboration (
