DESCRIPTION:EU-US Cooperation on Terrorist Crises: The Case of Somalia\, Ye
 men &amp\; the Gulf of Aden Piracy off the coast of Somalia has increased 
 dramatically over the past five years. In response the United States and t
 he European Union have increased their naval presence in the region. The E
 U is operating EU NAVFOR - Operation Atalanta and the US is overseeing Com
 bined Task Force 151 to “detect and deter piracy in and around the Gulf of
  Aden\, Arabian Sea\, Indian Ocean and Red Sea.”&nbsp\;&nbsp\; Open to ALL
  Graduate Students\, of any University\, Syracuse University is hosting a 
 Simulation that will confront participants with a terrorist attack scenari
 o on a naval vessel in the Gulf of Aden and challenge them to navigate the
  waters of international cooperation to make use of the collaborative stru
 ctures already in place and develop new tools to manage the crisis. Partic
 ipants will explore the new powers granted to the High Representative for 
 Foreign Affairs by the Lisbon Treaty which took effect in 2010. Our key no
 te speakers will be Thomas Henökl\, of the European Commissions’ Crisis Ma
