  to around 1750).\n\n\n\nSamantha Herrick is Associate Professor\nof Histo
 ry. Her research focuses on medieval Europe\, particularly saints’ lives\n
 inaccurately linking European churches to the immediate associates of Jesu
 s.\nShe traces the ways in which communities used and shared these legends
 . Her\ncourses include the history of food\, the Crusades\, and the legend
  of Mary\nMagdalen. She has held fellowships at the Institute for Advanced
