 tired U.S. Navy Commander Jeffrey Sizemore&nbsp\;is a global leader on atr
 ocity prevention training for practitioners. He has served as the Deputy D
 irector in the Office of Security and Human Rights and as the Senior Advis
 or on Atrocity Prevention for the Bureau of Democracy\, Human Rights\, and
  Labor at the US Department of State.Sizemore led and coordinated the bure
 au’s atrocity prevention efforts\, managing atrocity prevention training f
 or the State Department\, as well as working with interagency colleagues a
 s part of the Atrocity Prevention Task Force. He represented the United St
 ates in multilateral atrocity prevention activities\, building partnership
  with like-minded states and advocating for the necessity and value of pre
 vention work.&nbsp\;Before joining the State Department\, Jeffrey served f
 or more than 20 years in the U.S. Navy as a Surface Warfare Officer\, reti
 ring as a commander in 2020. Jeffrey received a bachelor’s degree in Ameri
 can Studies from the George Washington University in 2001 and a master’s d
 egree in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War C
 ollege in 2012.This lecture is hosted by the&nbsp\;minor in Atrocity Studi
 es and the Practices of Social Justice\, supported by Lauri ’77 and Jeffre
 y Zell ’77.
