  dramatically changed the way social\nscientists can do research\, moving 
 much of it online. This short workshop will\nintroduce practical advice fo
 r data management of social science projects such\nas organization\, docum
 entation and metadata\, data security\, and participant\nconfidentiality w
 ith a particular focus on the implications of doing research\nonline. Good
  data management helps ensure the success of research projects and\nfacili
 tates meeting increasing expectations about transparency for researchers.\
 n\n&nbsp\;\n\nThe workshop will cover best practices for data management a
 nd\nwriting data management plans that are now commonly required for exter
 nal grant\napplications.&nbsp\;Looking at online research\, we will discus
 s strategies for\nrecording and transcribing online interviews\, effective
 ly working with and\nsaving web pages\, and identifying collections of pri
 mary materials\nonline.All members of the SU community are welcome\, altho
 ugh the event is\ngeared toward students and faculty currently preparing g
 rant applications\n(internal or external) for projects that include empiri

 curation of qualitative data\, and the integration of technology into scho
 larly\nworkflows. He is an active contributor to several scholarly open so
 urce\nprojects\, including Zotero and the Citation Style Language\, and ha
 s taught\nwidely on digital technology and data management. Sebastian hold
 s a PhD in\npolitical science from Northwestern University and has publish
 ed in both social\nscience journals such as International\nStudies Quarter
 ly and Socio-Economic\nReview and information science journals such as Nat
