 search for MA thesis or doctoral research projects in Europe. Graduate stu
 dents at Syracuse University are eligible and encouraged to apply. The pur
 pose of the award is to provide students the opportunity to gather prelimi
 nary data\, make contacts\, map topics\, and increase competitiveness of f
 uture proposals for funding. The awards are competitive and proposals are 
 judged on the basis of (i) quality of the proposed research\, (ii) organiz
 ation and thoughtfulness of the proposal\, and (iii) appropriateness and f
 easibility of the research plan in relation to the student's background an
 d qualifications.You may apply for more than one summer grant from the Moy
 nihan Institute\, but you will not receive more than one in a given year.&
 nbsp\;Other types of support that could exclude you from receiving a summe
 r research grant include summer FLAS\, summer de Sardon-Glass support\, an
 d any other summer support from the Moynihan Institute.&nbsp\; Awards are 
 ranked separately\, so if your proposal is accepted by more than one commi
 ttee\, you will be awarded the better opportunity. If you win an award thi
