 ersity will hold its annual essay contest for undergraduate and graduate\n
 students.\n\n\n\nThe\nMES Young Scholar Prize will be awarded to the best 
 two essays dealing with any\naspect of the Middle East written by one unde
 rgraduate and one graduate student\nenrolled at Syracuse University. The a
 uthors of the winning papers will be\npresented with an award of $500 and 
 a certificate. \n\n\n\nThe\nentries\, which can originate as course papers
 \, will be evaluated by a faculty\ncommittee on the basis of originality o
 f research and conceptualization\,\ncogency of argument and clarity of wri
 ting. Essays must be no fewer than 5\,000\nand no more than 7\,500 words i
 n length (including bibliography)\, double-spaced\nand must have been prod
 uced between May 1\, 2015\, and April 1\, 2016. Essays can\nbe nominated b
 y faculty or by students (with a letter of support from a faculty\nmember)
