 tarting in 2003. In 2006\, he became the Ambassador\, Commissioner for Glo
 bal Issues: Civilian Crisis Prevention\, Human Rights\, Humanitarian Aid a
 nd International Terrorism for the Federal Foreign Office. Prior to his cu
 rrent post\, Mr. von Alvensleben was the Ambassador to Ireland. Mr. von Al
 vensleben will give a short presentation on the current situation in Europ
 e and Germany’s role in it. He will then open up the discussion to questio
