  currently Director of the Middle East News Institute. She was the Israel 
 correspondent for NPR from 1990-2009. She now reports for public radio thr

 for the Jewish Telegraphic Service. She won the Overseas Press Club Award 
 as a member of a team that covered the assassination of Israeli Prime Mini
 ster Yitzhak Rabin. Shealso received the Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia Univers
 ity Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism for her coverage of the P
 ersian Gulf War. Ms. Gradstein is a graduate of Georgetown University\, wh
 ere she earned a bachelor’s degree in Foreign Service and a master’s degre
 e in Arab Studies. She spent a year as a Rotary Fellow at the American Uni
 versity in Cairo and was selected to be a Knight Journalist Fellow at Stan
 ford University in 1998-9. Ms. Gradstein speaks Hebrew and Arabic. She is 
 currently a visiting professor at Georgetown University and last year was 
 a visiting professor at the College of Charleston. Ms. Gradstein lives in
