  Languages\, Literatures\, and Linguistics.Ian Garner is a scholar of Russ
 ian culture and war propaganda based at Queen's University\, Ontario. His 
 first book\, "Stalingrad Lives" (McGill-Queen's UP)\, explored the nascenc
 e and growth of the myth of the Battle of Stalingrad. His most recent book
 \, "Z Generation" (Oxford UP/Hurst)\, challenges received wisdom about lib
 eral tendencies in Russia's youngest generation to argue that the Russian 
 state's militarizing education and propaganda may prove successful. Review
 ed in major publications around the world and translated into five languag
 es\, "Z Generation" has been an international success. Garner regularly ap
 pears on major media networks in North America and abroad and writes for m
 ajor publications from The Guardian to the Washington Post and beyond.
