"Entre silencios" is a creative \;collaboration\nproject focu sed on upstate immigrant experiences\, particularly focusing on the\nmany silences that occur when people are asked to tell their stories\, often in \nthe context of legal appeals. The central thread of the project was deve loped\nby director/songwriter Ana Florencia López Ulloa in a choreopoem\ns tructure. \; Each participant in the project has contributed to develo ping\nthe roles they play in the performance\, which includes spoken dialo gue\, dance\,\nand original music. At times comedic and satirical\, other times heavy and\nanguished\, the\nstories we are telling are subtle becaus e we are not saying most of the trauma\nthey come from- those parts of the stories are implied in the silence from the\nactors on stage. \;There \nare parts of the performance that will sometimes include long -at times\ ,\nuncomfortably long- silences. Reading between the lines of those silenc es is\nimplied. The play between languages is also not accidental\, hoping to shed\nlight at the fact that what is often not said\, when it gets to be said\, may be\nsaid in a language that others do not understand. \;
