Employing sensemaking\nas a theoret ical lens to analyze collaboration between IBM and 17\nclient \;compan ies\, this study identifies data\, technology\, project\, and\ncontext as four core target areas of sensemaking in cognitive computing\nprojects. It describes typical sequences of \;sensemaking within and across\nthe a reas delivering a more dynamic understanding of how meanings influence\nea ch other in those projects. Finally\, it shows that mindfulness is selecti ve\nin \;terms of focus and differs between collaboration partners.
