Masood Hyder has 28 years of
experience in development and disaster
management at the United Nations
(with the World Food Programme, the
UN development Programme, and
the UN Office for the Coordination
of Humanitarian Affairs). He managed
humanitarian and development projects
in Sudan, Iran, North Korea, Bangladesh,
Indonesia and Djibouti. He is a longtime
advocate for communities striving to
overcome the effects of poverty and
disaster. Prior to joining the UN, he
served for five years as Senior Research
Officer in the Civil Service College, Civil
Service Department in London.
