  • Senlet made partner at law firm Barclay Damon

    Ekin Senlet ’08 JD/MAIR has been elected a partner of Barclay Damon, a regional law firm operating throughout a series of offices across the Northeastern United States and Toronto. Senlet, who has worked with Barclay Damon since completing her degrees at Maxwell, focuses on regulatory issues in the energy industry across New York State.

    O’Neil named to the Advisory Board of Mission 500

    Peter O’Neil ’91 BA (IR) has joined the advisory board of Mission 500, a nonprofit serving children, families, and communities in crisis across the United States. Founded in 2016, Mission 500 works closely with partners across the security industry in order to encourage corporate social responsibility.

    Michael Crow awarded NCSE award for science, service, and leadership

    Michael Crow ’85 PhD (PA) has received a lifetime achievement award for his contributions to science, service and leadership by the National Council on Science and the Environment (NCSE). Crow, who was appointed president of Arizona State University (ASU) in 2002, was recognized for his long-time commitment to increasing environmental sustainability within higher education.

    Isquierdo appointed chief human resources officer at Bryan Health

    Maria Isquierdo ’90 MPA has been named the chief human resources officer at Bryan Health, a regional nonprofit healthcare system operating throughout Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, and Missouri. With more than 20 years’ experience in human resources, Isquierdo will lead employee recruitment and retention across the Bryan Health system.

    Bucci appointed to director position for PC Public Affairs

    Michael Bucci ’95 MPA has been named director of public relations and public affairs at PC Public Affairs, a public relations and strategic communications firm based in Latham, N.Y. Bucci has spent most of the past three decades in communications, serving in numerous government, business, and non-profit organizations.

    Alumnus joins specialists in international real estate investment

    Artyom Perevedentsev ’10 MA (Econ) has been appointed to the International Investment Group of BNP Paribas Real Estate, an international real estate provider. In his new role, Perevedentsev will focus on expanding hotel investment opportunities into cross-border and other alternative markets.

    Rigaud Noel ’04 BA (PSc) has been appointed chief partnership officer by New York Edge, an after-school programming provider working across New York City’s metropolitan region. Noel previously served as New York Edge’s senior director of public development and educational partnerships.

    Hytinen named executive vice president and CFO at Iron Mountain

    Barry Hytinen ’97 BA (PSc) has been designated as an executive vice president and the chief financial officer at Iron Mountain, a storage and information management company. The appointment took effect January 1, 2020. Founded in 1951, Iron Mountain stores and protects billions of assets, ranging from highly sensitive data to cultural and historical artifacts in more than 1,450 facilities around the world.

    Uechi completes book on public dimensions of information technology

    Edward Uechi ’08 MPA has written Public Service Information Technology: The Definitive Manager’s Guide to Harnessing Technology of Cost-Effective Operations and Services (Productivity Press, 2020). Uechi’s book explores the complex intersections between various areas of information technology (IT) management.

    Douglas presented with executive leadership award

    Judy Douglas ’77 BA (AmSt)/’81 MPA was given the Industry Executive Leadership Award by the American Council for Technology-Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC). Douglas received this award in recognition for contributions to ACT-IAC, her mentorship, and her work strengthening government-industry relations.

    Rossman appointed to California’s wildfire board

    Rhoda Rossman ’82 MPA has been appointed to the California Catastrophe Response Council by Governor Gavin Newsom. The Catastrophe Response Council, created this past year by the state’s legislature, is responsible for overseeing the California Wildfire Fund, which contains $20 billion in capital liquidity earmarked for paying uninsured destruction due to wildfire damage.

    Zogby honored as French institute’s keynote speaker

    John Zogby ’74 MA (Hist) was selected as a keynote panelist of the annual conference of the French Institute of International Relations (IFRI), a Paris-based think tank that brings together researchers, professionals, and opinion leaders from around the globe. Zogby is senior partner at John Zogby Strategies, and widely recognized as one of the most accurate pollsters in the world today.

    Flannery recognized as trailblazer in public finance

    Kelly Flannery ’00 BA (IR) has been named one of 12 trailblazing women in public finance by The Bond Buyer, a trade publication widely read by finance professionals. Having spent more than 19 years in public finance, Flannery currently serves as the chief financial officer for the City of Charlotte, N.C.

    A podcast produced by Glass Frog Solutions, a New York City-based firm that provides program evaluation services to local nonprofits, is hosted by Rebecca Casciano ’03 MPA and Jennifer Puma ’03 MPA. In the most recent edition of the podcast, they interviewed Leonard Lopoo, Maxwell Advisory Board Professor of Public Policy and director of Maxwell’s Center for Policy Research.

    Andrew Maxwell ’06 MPA, Corey Williams ’07 MPA, and Andrew Lunetta ’14 MPA were each recognized as one of Central New York’s 40 under Forty. The 40 under Forty award is presented by M&T Bank and the Business Journal News Network (BJNN), a Syracuse-headquartered print, digital, and events company focusing on local businesses across the region.
